Channel 5 has broadcasted spine-chilling footage of Gavin Plumb flaunting his kidnap kit in its documentary The Plot to Kill Holly Willoughby.

Last year, the 37 year old security guard was slapped with at least 16 years behind bars for plotting to snatch, assault and off ITV star Holly Willoughby, after an undercover cop nabbed him in a chatroom.

The doc gives us the lowdown on Plumb’s fixation with the ex-This Morning host and his eventual capture. In a jaw-dropping segment, the doc shows footage from Plumb’s own mobile, where he brags about the gear he’s stockpiled to kidnap Holly.

The incriminating video was sent to David Nelson – a covert copper patrolling the chatroom ‘Abduct Lovers’ who Plumb reckoned would help him with his vile scheme. The clip reveals a stash of break-in tools spread out on a bed.

“Hand and ankle shackles, real ball gag, three lots of rope, metal cable ties, two sets of handcuffs,” Plumb is heard listing in the video.

Plumb didn’t stop there; he also spilled his guts to David in WhatsApp messages, saying: “I have a s**t load of information on her, I know when she does and don’t have security…” he penned. “And that she doesn’t have CCTV at home, what time she gets up in the morning,” reports the Mirror.

David, who’s actually Stateside and rocking a pseudonym online, tipped off Essex coppers about the looming danger, leading to Plumb’s swift nicking.

Plumb was convicted of soliciting murder and inciting rape and kidnap at Chelmsford Crown Court. In his ruling, Mr Justice Edward Murray stated: “There is no doubt that if you had genuinely found one or more accomplices who were seriously interested in and had been willing to join you in carrying your plan through then you would have put this plan into action.”

The Channel 5 documentary delves into the chilling case with interviews from journalists, detectives, and psychologists. However, Holly chose not to participate or feature in the programme.

A source close to Holly revealed to The Mirror last week that the TV star is keen to put the incident behind her. “She’s a very strong woman. As far as she’s concerned, it happened, it’s in the past, and she wants to get on with her life and move on,” they shared.

“In an ideal world it would be something that’s never spoken about again, but Holly knows that’s not going to happen, so she’ll just ride it out. She’s haunted by the past but she won’t be retraumatised by it. She feels the same about the whole Phillip Schofield thing at This Morning – it happened, it’s over, move on.”
