The Last of Us has ‘surprise cameo’ from Jennifer Aniston that you’ll never spot

The Last of Us season two is currently airing and eagle-eyed viewers have spotted Jennifer Aniston’s unexpected appearance in the HBO series, which you definitely didn’t notice…

The Last of Us season two “features” Jennifer Aniston, but you definitely missed her scene.

The second instalment of the HBO series is airing every Sunday and Jennifer Aniston recently took to Instagram to address her “surprise cameo”.

During one scene, Ellie – played by Bella Ramsey – can be seen flicking through a magazine while making her way through a supermarket that looks a little worse for wear.

Look closer and you’ll notice that the glossy is a 2003 edition of People that features Friends actress Jennifer Aniston on the cover.

Jen took to her Instagram Story to post a screenshot and joked: “Of all things to survive the apocalypse [laughing emoji].”

Over on Reddit, fans of the show have been discussing Aniston’s unexpected appearance in the show and theorised the fates of the Friends cast.

One user wrote: “Since the outbreak in the show happened in 2003, the world never got to see the end of Friends…do you think any of the Friends cast survived?”

“Could Joey be a Clicker now? Ugly Naked Guy a Shambler? Did Rachel join the Fireflies or the WLF?”

Fans of the show speculated whether Jennifer knew about the surprise scene(Image: Variety via Getty Images)

Someone else said that Jennifer seemed “surprised” about her cameo, but another Redditor theorised: “She knew, there’s no way the production studio would have put that magazine on screen without first clearing it with everyone involved given they would risk lawsuits otherwise.”

SPOILER – Pedro Pascal’s character Joel was recently killed off during a devastating scene as he tried to help Abby, who eventually turned on him and shot him in the leg.

Although Joel is dead, “this is not the last we will see” of Pedro in the HBO series

Fans were gutted at the idea Pedro will no longer be part of the series, but his future on the show has been confirmed by series creator Neil Druckmann.

“This is where the story starts in earnest, but I will say that we do know there are some mysteries here, some gaps, in Ellie and Joel’s relationships and I think this is a spoiler because we put a trailer out there with lots of shots in it. This is not the last that we will see of Joel.”
