The man who was held at gunpoint and arrested after ramming his car into Jennifer Aniston’s mansion gates is being investigated over a possible ‘stalking motive’, according to police sources
Police insiders have revealed more details about the man who drove his car through the gates of ‘Friends’ megastar Jennifer Aniston’s sprawling LA mansion.
The 56-year-old celeb was at home on Monday afternoon when the vehicle breached her property’s perimeter, a property she snapped up for $20 million in 2012.
Luckily, the unidentified attacker was swiftly nabbed by Aniston’s security team, who rushed the vehicle and detained its male driver. He was held at gunpoint until the police arrived.
Initial reports suggested that the intruder, a man initially thought to be in his 70s, may have accidentally crashed into the actress’s gates.

However, members of the LAPD Threat Management Unit have told TMZ that they are now probing ‘odd’ social media posts, which could suggest a stalking motive behind the incident.
The source stated they are “reviewing social media posts” made by the man prior to the crash, with “a Facebook page with several bizarre and rambling posts” discovered under the intruder’s name.
LAPD sources also leaked the alleged intruder’s name to the Mail. Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, who is 48 rather than the initially reported 70 years old, has been charged with felony vandalism for the damage inflicted on Jennifer Aniston’s property.
A Facebook page under his moniker is littered with references to the Friends icon, with one particularly creepy post calling Aniston his “bride.” The page also features five posts that drop her full name.
In a spine-chilling message, the account sharing the intruder’s name expresses an eagerness to “finally get to see” Aniston.
The post states: “Christ Jimmy Wayne Carwyle and Emanuel Jennifer Joanna Aniston Carwyle, HIS LOVE AND INNERMOST BEING WAS US, TWO BEING ONE LIFE, ONE BEING, ONE FLESH, THROUGHOUT LIFE FIXING TO FINALLY GET TO SEE YOU!”.
However, coppers have yet to confirm whether this profile belongs to the same bloke charged after the incident, or if it’s another Jimmy Wayne Carwyle.
As LAPD detectives delve into what led to the crash, Carwyle finds himself banged up in LA County Jail without the option of bail.
What are the details of the crash?
A car breached the gates leading to Jennifer Aniston’s Bel Air mansion at around 12.20pm local time on Monday, leaving parts of the gate visibly damaged and hanging off.
The intruder was quickly apprehended by Aniston’s security detail who held him at gunpoint until police and paramedics arrived. The man was treated by paramedics at the scene and initially taken to a hospital after the crash.
LAPD spokesperson Officer Jeff Lee said the force received a call about a “burglary” at Aniston’s home and rushed to the property, where they said the man “ran his vehicle through the gate to the residence.”
Aniston did not come face-to-face with the intruder during the distressing incident, as the gate is some way from the main property on the expansive 8,500 square-foot leafy compound.
The car crash was the second time an intruder has attempted to gain access to the Friends star’s home. In 2015, just three years after she bought the mansion for $20 million, a vehicle smashed through the property’s border.
A security guard reportedly called police immediately after it happened and when cops arrived the man claimed he wasn’t behind the wheel at the time.
Video footage from the Friends star’s home contradicted his claims, according to TMZ, and the suspect was arrested a short time later when he failed a sobriety test.
