Linda Nolan’s son Lloyd has sadly died of cancer, just months after the Nolan sister died from the same disease as devastated loved ones reveal they would “joke” about their illnesses together
Linda Nolan’s stepson has died.
The Nolan sister died of cancer on 15 January after a 20-year fight and in an unfortunate turn of events, her stepson Lloyd has sadly died of the same disease.
He reportedly passed on Tuesday 6 May, just under four months since their family said goodbye to Linda.
Both of them were battling incurable cancers and Lloyd was diagnosed with throat cancer back in September 2023.
Doctors decided not to go ahead with surgery because the tumour was so large and close to his vocal cords. He began radiotherapy at the same time as Linda underwent immunotherapy for secondary breast cancer that had spread to her brain.
After just weeks of treatement, Lloyd was reportedly taken to A&E as ulcers had formed around the tumour and he was experiencing a bleed.
A close family friend has spoken out about their unbearable loss.
“They were fighting side by side, Linda would finish her treatment and text him to check in. They joked about their meds, shared their side effects, cried together too. Linda really thought he’d outlive her. She needed that belief.”
In April 2024 it was revealed that his throat cancer had cleared: “Linda was absolutely over the moon, she kept saying: ‘I’ll be the one to go, but he’s going to be fine.’ She clung to that.”
However, more bad news was to devastate the family as medical professionals informed them that Lloyd’s cancer had spread to his lungs and Linda’s brain tumours had begun to grow once more.
At the time Linda said that the news made her “sob” and that her “heart sank when the consultant told her”.
The friend explained: “He was her light. She could handle her own diagnosis, but watching him go through it too, it was like history repeating itself with Brian. She was devastated.”
“Linda always said cancer had taken enough from her family. Now it’s taken even more. She would be heartbroken.”
