Liam Payne’s son Bear, eight, is set to inherit his father’s entire £24million fortune following the One Direction star’s tragic death in 2024, and pals say the singer will “always do the right thing” by her son
Cheryl, the ex of Liam Payne, is said to “will do the right thing” for their son Bear, who is set to inherit his father’s entire £24million fortune. The One Direction star tragically fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina last year and did not leave a will, meaning his estate is shared between any children.
As Liam only had one child, eight year old Bear, he will inherit the fortune. Cheryl, 41, a member of Girls Aloud, was given control over Liam’s estate following his death. It is now believed that Liam’s wealth, mostly earned during his time in the boyband, will be put into a trust for his son.
Friends of Cheryl have stated that she, like Liam, always wants to do what’s best for her son.
Court documents reveal that Liam, originally from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, left a total of £28,595,000, which was later reduced to £24,280,000 after his expenses and debts were paid, reports the Mirror.
A source close to Liam told Mail Online: “It is a small consolation that Bear will never want for anything, that he will at least benefit from that. Liam had some very sensible people around him for a time and he adored Bear so much. He always wanted to do the right thing by him financially,”.
Liam’s pals dished to Mail Online that the superstar was set on making sure his beloved lad would be financially stable if anything were to happen to him, leaving nothing for his then-girlfriend, American bombshell Kate Cassidy, from his fortune.
The pop sensation’s assets were registered under a legal move called Ad Colligenda Bona grant – which means what happens when a home needs selling after someone’s passed away. Cheryl’s name was detailed as being on these legal papers along with that of Richard Bray, a hotshot music solicitor who’s had big names like Ed Sheeran on his books.
Kate, who dropped hints about tying the knot with Liam, wasn’t given a nod in the will. But the influencer seemed unfussed by this, as she flaunted a cheeky snap to her whopping 900,000 Insta fans just moments later.
In the post, Kate revealed a peek inside her bag, showing off a Starbucks sarnie and some snazzy hair extensions with the playful caption: “What’s in your purse? ? ? Mine: starbucks and @glamseamless.”
And not long ago this week, the model shared some chic snaps from her day at the Miami Grand Prix. Her upload also featured a pic of a rainbow, which one adoring fan reckoned might be a message from Liam from beyond the grave.
