EXCLUSIVE: A huge TV icon has returned to screens and this time with his “dream woman” by his side, Emily Atack – and the star revealed how they met to the Daily Star
A TV icon has returned to screens after a long hiatus away – and he’s now revealed his “steamy” relationship with actress Emily Atack.
After starring as the face of PG Tips for over 20 years, Monkey is now back on screen and this time he’s married and starring in his own reality show ‘At Home with Monkey’.
Viewers can Catch Mr and Mrs M (Emily Atack) living life ‘just one tea at a time’, with the launch of the new reality TV-inspired ad, At Home with Monkey, which follows his new life.
When speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Monkey (as voiced by by comedian Ivo Graham) revealed what he’s been up to and how he met his “dream woman”.
Monkey told us: “I had a long tea break, but, the main thing has been huge changes in my personal life and that’s what we’re letting the cameras in on.
“This year, I’ve I’ve got married. There’s a Mrs. M, I can’t quite believe it. They said it would never happen.
“We met on a dance show. It’s a tale as old as time, and she danced the cha-cha. Obviously, we eloped only as far as Bedford before we became parched, but we stopped off for a brew, and we said, ‘I do’.”
Monkey continued: “We’ve got a hot tub in the garden in the shape of a cup of tea. It’s a pretty glamorous life. She’s the whole package. She won’t mind me saying this, brains, beauty and of real sixth sense when the kettle needs putting on.
“Our marriage is, I think I can say this on record. It’s like a good cup of tea. It’s strong, it’s comforting, and it is, at times, quite steamy.”
Emily Atack also commented: “It’s not often you get the opportunity to work with a national treasure. Filming alongside the knitted and quick-witted Monkey has been such a joy – I absolutely loved stepping into the role of Mrs. M, and living life one tea at a time as Monkey’s other half. It is both hilarious and heartwarming in equal measure!
“Alice definitely keeps Monkey on his toes, and I think many couples will relate to their dynamic. I can’t wait to spill the tea on what this duo have been up to!”
