Eurovision host Scott Mills makes drastic pledge if Remember Monday succeed

BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills has made a promise to fans if the UK’s entry Remember Monday wins the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

Radio DJ Scott Mills is gearing up for a wild transformation if the UK’s Eurovision hopefuls Remember Monday smash into the Top 5 at this year’s song contest.

The 52-year-old broadcasting legend, who’s set to dazzle as part of the Eurovision presenting team alongside Rylan Clark, has promised something rather permanent.

Scott’s not just co-hosting the semi-finals; he’ll be back in the commentary box with Rylan, bringing all the glitz and glamour of the grand final live from Switzerland. With Eurovision fever hitting new heights, Scott’s vowed to go under the needle.

He declared: “I cannot wait to be back in the commentary booth with Rylan, who will no doubt have perfected every dance routine for all 37 countries. We’ll be cheering on Remember Monday… who I’ve already agreed to get matching tattoos with if they place in the Top 5 in the Final!”

And that’s not all – Scott’s taking his Breakfast Show on the road, broadcasting directly from Basel during the epic week of Eurovision madness. “And I’m so excited to be taking my Breakfast Show international as we broadcast from the heart of the contest in Basel for the whole week.”

The veteran DJ can’t hide his enthusiasm for the event, saying: “Eurovision is a true celebration of diversity and I love sharing that with everyone – to do that for the first time on the UK’s biggest Breakfast Show is a dream!

When asked about what fans can expect from the semi-finals airing Tuesday (May 13) and Thursday (May 15), Scott hinted at a more playful spin on the tunes set to hit the stage, reports the Express.

The star is back presenting the semi-finals

He commented: “I would say that there are more jokey, fun songs than normal at Eurovision this year. I know if you go back to Eurovision of the 80s and 90s, there was a lot of novelty songs.

“This year there’s definitely more fun ones than serious ones. I think that’s because everyone just wants a bit of light relief at the moment.

“A lot of these songs get chosen internally, so the public have nothing to do with it, but then a lot of the songs are a result of winning a public vote on television to find that country’s Eurovision entry, and as a result a lot of them are quite fun this year.

“There are a lot of songs where some Eurovision fans will go, oh, it just makes a mockery of the whole competition, but I’m here for it. It’s part of the contest!”.

This year, girl band Remember Monday will fly the flag for the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest. The pop trio, made up of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steel, first rose to fame on The Voice UK in 2019.
