Hollywood star Nicolas Cage has revealed that he loves tucking into pickled eggs. The 61-year-old, who won as Oscar for 1995 movie Leaving Las Vegas, said he couldn’t resist the tangy eggs when ordering a chippie in Britain.

The Longlegs actor – who is starring in movie The Surfer in cinemas now – said he liked to ‘keep it simple’ when having fish and chips. He said his ‘go to chippy order’ was ‘traditional fish and chips’, but that he usually ordered a pickled egg as well.

He said: “I just like traditional fish and chips. Maybe a pickled egg, keep it simple.

While living in Somerset – where he lived for around 15 years – he popped to Knights Fish Restaurant for a chippy tea.

Head fryer George Morey, speaking previously, said: “He ordered six pickled eggs and six pickled onions and a few gherkins as well.

“So he’s a big fan of his pickles obviously.”

This revelation follows Cage’s plea about AI. The Face/Off star took to the stage at the Saturn Awards in Universal City, California to accept the best actor in a film prize for his role in Dream Scenario, where he begged fellow actors not to let AI “manipulate” their performances.
