X Files star Gillian Anderson says she loves having sex in a tent or the back of a car.
The 56-year-old, who played Special Agent Dana Scully alongside David Duchovny’s Fox Mulder in the hit sci-fi show, said if ‘needs must’ sex was good ‘anywhere’.
The actor – who starred as sex therapist Jean Milburn in TV series Sex Education – gets frisky with co-star Jason Isaacs in a tent in new move The Salt Path.
The movie, out in the UK on May 30, is based on a book by Raynor Winn about her and her husband Moth’s real life trek around the 630-mile South West Coast Path.
Asked if she reckoned bonking in a tent was ever a ‘good idea’, Gillian – who played Margaret Thatcher in The Crown – said: “Well, sex in the back of a car, sex anywhere.
“I mean, yeah, why not?.
“Uncomfortable, tight quarters, but needs must.”, she told the Culture supplement in The Sunday Times earlier this month.
Mum-of-three Gillian – once voted the world’s sexiest woman by FHM magazine – last year published a book called Want, a collection of women’s sexual fantasies.
She added: “Sex and sexual fantasy are still very much taboo, even though we have shows like Sex Education and Euphoria and Fifty Shades of Grey.”
Her comments follow reports that the star may be returning to appear as Dana in a reboot of the X Files.
The new series is rumoured to be returning via Disney Plus.
She is said to have held talks with Hollywood director Ryan Coogler, who has written a revival series of the 1990s hit drama.
Coogler has dubbed the remake “f****** scary”, likely to be terrifying for fans.
He said that he has spoken to the “great Gillian Anderson” about the project, adding: “She’s incredible. Fingers crossed there.”
