Adult film legend Colton Ford has tragically died in a bizarre hiking trail accident at the age of 62, friends have confirmed.

The star, whose real name was Glenn Soukesian, was found dead late Monday night on the rugged Goat Trails in Palm Springs, California.

Friends raised the alarm after Colton failed to return home on Sunday. Police launched a search after a report of a missing hiker was filed earlier that day, leading to the grim discovery. Authorities have so far remained quiet about the circumstances, and mystery continues to swirl around how the tragedy occurred. His body was later confirmed by loved ones, according to the Bay Area Reporter.

“The police have not shared the details of their findings yet, so we don’t really know what happened to cause his death.

“My heart is broken – it’s almost too much to take. One of my best friends, a man who helped save my life many years ago. I miss you terribly. I can’t stop the flood of tears.”

Born in Pasadena, Colton had a late start in the adult entertainment world, only entering the scene at age 40 in 2001, according to OUT magazine. But his impact was immediate.

Far more than just an adult star, Colton also found success as a singer and actor. His albums Tug of War (2008) and The Way I Am (2013) earned him a loyal music following.

He appeared in cult film Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!, starred as Sheriff Trout in the TV series The Lair, and even featured in Cyndi Lauper’s music video Into The Nightlife.

Tributes have flooded social media, including a heartfelt post from drag superstar and adult film director Chi Chi LaRue, real name Larry David Paciotti.
