Miley Cyrus has opened up about a terrifying health scare she suffered last year which led to her being hospitalised and the singer told Jimmy Kimmel the experience was “brutal”
Miley Cyrus’ leg began to “disintegrate” and she was taken to hospital.
The pop star confessed she landed in the intensive care unit months back due to a health scare.
The 32 year old singer spoke on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! about her experience filming on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for a music video. She told Jimmy that she “caught something” while rolling around on the floor, reports the Mirror.
The Grammy Award winner revealed that after filming she wound up in the hospital with an infection and even had a stint in the ICU “for a moment” since the accident and emergency department was swamped.
She said: “I filmed this video in October and by November at Thanksgiving I was put in ICU for a moment. Just for a moment, but it was mostly because it was Thanksgiving. There was a lot of people in the ER y’know, people choking on turkey legs or whatever.”
“My leg began to disintegrate within some way around the kneecap area. The doctor goes: ‘You have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?’ and I just saw myself [dancing] and I had to tell them.”
Chatting with Jimmy, she recounted her shock: “To have a surgeon look at you and say: ‘Yuck,’ like they open up like cadavers! Like they see inside the gut of humans and they’re looking at me telling me I’m disgusting, and they do brain operations.”
During the chat, Jimmy quizzed her about the cleanliness of the sidewalk and Miley admitted: “Absolutely not. None of that because, y’know, with this movie I had a big dream and a small budget. Well, I had a pretty good budget but I spent it all on my clothes.”
Miley elaborated: “So then when it came time to y’know go to the Walk of Fame, they’re like: ‘So what are you gonna do? Are you gonna rent this thing or what? Because that’s really out of your price range’. I was like ‘no, we’ll just go in the middle of the night’.”
Challenging Jimmy, she asked: “Have you been to the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night? I thought it was my last day.”
