Men of the world rejoice, Sydney Sweeney has officially confirmed her split from fiancé Jonathan Davino.
The 27-year-old actress had been rocking an engagement ring since Jonathan, a film producer, 41, popped the question in March 2022, following four years of dating. However, she hasn’t been seen sporting the ring since earlier this year, fuelling breakup whispers.
Now, she’s finally put the speculation to rest. When quizzed if there were any upcoming nuptials, she told The Times: “No.”
The star of Anyone But You was further probed about her current relationship status, and she confirmed she’s back on the singles market. But rather than getting back on the dating scene she’s focusing on discovering herself and embracing her social side with pals.
She revealed: “Yes. I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it.”
As Sydney navigates her jam-packed schedule, starring in hotly anticipated flicks like Echo Valley and The Housemaid, her loved ones are sounding the alarm on potential “burnout” if she doesn’t take a breather.
She shared: “I hear it more from my family than myself. ‘Sydney, you’re going to burn out. Sydney, you need to slow down. Sydney, you need to take a break.”
This revelation comes hot on the heels of insiders spilling that Sydney felt “overwhelmed” by the prospect of planning a wedding and opted to concentrate on her frenzied work schedule instead.
An insider revealed to People: “She’s exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects.
“What did make her overwhelmed, though, was her relationship and her wedding. She didn’t feel right about it.
“She’s in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago. This is what she wants to focus on right now.
“She’s not ready to settle down. They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.”
