Denise Van Outen has admitted that she took up one of her hobbies in hopes of meeting another partner after her divorce, and despite finding love again she still loves to play
Denise Van Outen knows the best way to meet men.
Before she met her new beau Adam Butler, the telly star swapped dating apps and wild nights out for the golf course in her quest for love, reports the Mirror.
She said: “The reason I got into it, this is the truth, it was after my divorce and I wanted to go somewhere where there are just loads of men. I just went: ‘Where can I go?'”
“Because when you’re young you just go to a nightclub. I was like: ‘I’m not going to be able to do that now and I just don’t want to spend all night in the nightclub’. I was like: ‘Where have all the nightclubbers gone?'”
“I looked and most of my male friends have grown up and got into golf. I thought: ‘Perfect’.”
While on the Pack Your Bags podcast, Denise said that there should be “more woman playing golf” and that her hobby has taken her to some “lovely places”. The TV personality even admitted she “centres a lot of her holidays around either golf or DJing”.
Denise recounted her “most fun” golfing experience at a course in Barbados, where players are served cocktails by staff on buggies.
She also discussed her experience on the celebrity dating on Raya, where she connected with a major Hollywood star: “I did connect with one massive Hollywood star. We had a little bit of the chat but I don’t live in LA, so I thought: ‘He’s not going to come to Chelmsford’.”
Denise admitted that she enjoyed her time on Raya and “made some friends, went on dates and had a good time”.
The star also said that her friends often “moan to her” about their relationships and confess that they “don’t have sex and argue all the time,” some even “creeping in at night while their other half is asleep”.
She also said: “I feel happier now than I used to, because I’m more content in myself. As we start to get older, you hear of people getting the illnesses.”
“I lost a friend when she was quite young. It made me realise it’s more important to celebrate the fact you’re still here and still able to enjoy yourself and do things.”
