Reality TV icon Katie Price has taken to social media to share a snap of her new Sphynx cats, with the former glamour model referring to her new animals as her ‘bald babies’
Katie Price has once again drawn the ire of her fans after posting pictures of her latest pets on social media.
The 47-year-old former glamour model shared images of her new Sphynx cats, which she affectionately refers to as her ‘babies’, on Instagram on Monday.
The mother-of-five posted a photo of four cats and captioned it: “My bald babies” – a nod to the fact that Sphynx cats are famously hairless.
The ex-model has always been open about her love for animals and has owned numerous pets over the years. In 2020, a petition was launched to prevent her from owning animals.
The change.org petition has since garnered over 37,000 signatures following some distressing revelations about Katie’s pets.
Her cherished German Shepherd dog was killed on the A24 near her home, just seven months after another of her dogs met the same fate on the same road. Her horse also died on the same road after escaping from Katie’s fields, reports the Mirror.
In 2020, her French Bulldog puppy Rolo suffocated after getting trapped under a chair.
A representative for JRC Bullies – who had “gifted” the dog to the Loose Women star – told the Mirror at the time: “We are heartbroken that this has happened as we told Katie not to leave a small puppy on its own. We can’t believe that the puppy was left unattended as we had left strict instructions.”
The petition claims: “A puppy has died in the last 24 hours in Katie Price’s care she bought this puppy for her 13 year old child 3 weeks ago. Which was killed in a accident no one witnessed.”
The author accuses: “In the last 5 years more animals have died from lack of care. Horses. dogs.cats lizards hedgehogs. This isn’t a single family tragedy. It’s a common thing in Katie Price’s home.”
They detail further incidents: “2 dogs have been ran over. Puppies were found dead drowning in a neglected swimming pool. A horse was run over on a motorway. Animals just go missing in her home never to been seen again.”
While the petition urges PETA to intervene, the animal rights organisation has previously spoken out about Katie’s treatment of her pets – they even proposed a £5000 cash incentive last year if she agrees legally not to acquire any more animals.
It is reported that at least eight of Katie’s pets have met untimely deaths while in her care, including five dogs, a horse, and a chameleon.
