TV star Teodora Marcu, who was 26 weeks pregnant, was reportedly shot dead in the street while holding her three-year-old toddler in her arms in a shocking attack
A pregnant TV star was allegedly shot dead in the street in a horror attack.
Teodora Marcu, 23, was reportedly gunned down at close range while carrying her three-year-old daughter. The mum, who was 26 weeks pregnant at the time, was allegedly shot by her ex-boyfriend, Robert Lupu, 49.
Marcu was fatally shot outside the Cosmopolis residential complex near the Romanian capital Bucharest on Saturday (31 May). According to NeedToKnow, the suspect allegedly shot himself after being cornered by cops.
The pregnant star had found fame on a Love Island-like show in her home country called Insula Lubirii. It’s claimed she was attacked after leaving a kids’ party with her cousin and children.
The pair posted photos of the party on social media just minutes before the alleged attack. It’s reported they went to buy ice cream when Marcu was shot four times in the chest and abdomen.
Marcu’s cousin tried to help her on the street after the incident and tried to console her daughter. It’s reported the suspect had left the scene before being tracked down by police, after which he reportedly committed suicide.
Police said: “Two lethal firearms were found on the man, one of which he used to commit suicide. The two weapons were seized by specialists from the Weapons Service of the Ilfov County Police Inspectorate and we are still trying to determine their origin.”
Marcu left the suspect, the Mirror writes, when she found out he was lying about his marriage and he never accepted the relationship was over.
Teodora was expecting her second child with her partner Alexandru Marcu, an illusionist, at the time of her death. She would have given birth to a son.
The investigation into her alleged murder is ongoing.
Last month, beauty influencer Valeria Márquez, 23, was fatally shot during a TikTok live broadcast. The Mexican social media star was killed in the beauty salon where she worked in the city of Zapopan by a man who entered and shot her, prosecutors said.
The death is being investigated as a femicide, the killing of a woman for reasons of gender. The prosecutor’s office have not named a suspect.
