James Buckley has signed a big-money deal to join Celebrity Gogglebox.

The Inbetweeners legend will be appearing on the Gogglebox sofa alongside his wife Clair. They’ll be making their debut on the new series, which kicks off on Friday (June 6) at 9pm on Channel 4.

James is thrilled to be the latest star to take part in the hit show, which pulls in around four million viewers. The actor and Clair have already started filming for the star-studded edition of the programme, which sees stars react to the latest and greatest TV moments of the week.

He said: “We are joining the Gogglebox family. We have been watching some great TV and some not so great TV.” The Celebrity Gogglebox Instagram account also referenced Jay’s iconic Inbetweeners line – “completed it mate” – in their announcement.

Since then he’s appeared on the celeb versions of Bake Off, Mastermind, MasterChef and Catchphrase. Previously he was one of TV’s biggest stars with roles in White Gold, Rock & Chips and Red Dwarf.

His fame has earned him a reported £1million thanks to fans paying for him to record videos on Cameo. Rylan Clark has also confirmed he will be appearing on the new series.

The presenter will be back on the sofa alongside his mum Linda. In a post on social media, he told fans: “We are back on Gogglebox. Make sure you watch us on Friday, watching TV with you!”

Fans are thrilled Rylan and Linda will be back. One said: “I’m so happy to see you both.”

Another added: “Love you both on Gogglebox.” Rylan has previously admitted working with his mum comes with downsides.

The star also worries she’ll say the wrong thing when they’re on camera. He told the Daily Star: “My mum forgets the cameras are there. Within five minutes of us starting, she’s gone. And that’s when I worry.

“She is very much herself. But there’s being yourself and then there’s taking it so far that you could ruin your son’s career!

“I can’t repeat the things she says. I’m always like, ‘You can’t say that, mum’. The s*** she comes out with… if they were aired, I wouldn’t have a career. I’m going to have to buy a gag off the internet.”
