Britain’s Got Talent has been hit with 72 Ofcom complaints over Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon’s ‘revealing’ final dresses, the regulator has confirmed
The Britain’s Got Talent finale has been swamped with 72 complaints about Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon’s saucy frocks. Ofcom confirmed viewers were up in arms, claiming that the stars’ gowns were “too revealing for a family show”.
Judge Amanda, 54, dazzled in her final get-up for the ITV talent extravaganza, having sworn to keep her bold fashion sense despite facing criticism since the series kicked off. She went all out for Saturday’s glittering climax, opting to go without a bra in a plunging white silk dress, complementing it with her hair sleekly tied back and adorned with glitzy clips.
Alesha made sure she wouldn’t be ignored either, making quite the entrance on stage in her glitter-drenched transparent jumpsuit that left little to the imagination by showing off her undergarments.
Alesha and Amanda frequently face flak for their edgy sartorial selections on the show, with Amanda particularly stirring controversy over time with her unapologetic style.
Back in July 2017, she had jaws dropping with a sheer Julien Macdonald creation that sparked the most viewer complaints of any TV incident that year, reports the Mirror.
Mum-of-two Amanda cheekily labelled the uproar a ‘national crisis’, quipping: “I had bits of fish wire underneath my breasts trying to hold that together… It’s all quite laughable, but all everyone seems to talk about. It’s been called another national crisis – but, oh no, I will not be covered up.”
Her daring dresses have become the talk of the town to the point where she’s got a squad to inspect her bust before going live. “There’s a whole body of people that knock on my door and come and stare at my chest before we go on air,” she once revealed.
“There’s a t** committee. There are so many brilliant people, they come down, knock on the door and there’s the lady who’s the producer who said, ‘Mandy, it looks great’.”
