Love Island is back on our screens and this year, the show is hotter than ever as sex scenes will be shown on TV for the first time in the show’s history
Hold onto your sunhats, folks, because Love Island is set to sizzle like never before. After ten years of tantalising telly, ITV’s smash-hit show is back with a bang – and this time, it’s getting steamy in broad daylight.
Executive producer Mike Spencer spilled the beans after giving us an exclusive sneak peek of the villa: “If sex happens, we’ll show it. The Hideaway will be open 24 hours.”
No more coy cover-ups; this season, the cameras are wide awake. Mike dished out: “We need to keep the show fresh and exciting. After 10 years, the stats speak for themselves. The show will continue to thrive. We the producers need to stay ahead of the curve. The whole ‘twists and turns’ thing is about making the show fresh. We’re going to give it all we’ve got.”
Talk about upping the ante!

Returning host Maya Jama, bringing her trademark pizzazz and flair, quipped: “I feel like they forgot last year that you could come in the Hideaway at any time. We did tell them, but they kept forgetting!” That’s not likely to slip their minds this time around, Maya, reports the Mirror.
And how do the latest batch of hot hopefuls feel?
Megan Moore, known as Meg, a 25 year old payroll whizz from Southampton, shared with us: “It’s not ideal to be having it on telly, but you don’t know because you’re in that bubble. If it comes naturally, then it happens. You can’t ever never say never.”
In a contrasting approach, Sophie Lee, a 29 year old former fire breather, influencer, and motivational speaker from Manchester, has chosen a path of celibacy: “I am celibate. I’ve practiced celibacy throughout my dating life. It’ll take a really hot guy to change that! For me, intimacy is giving a piece of my soul. If I’m not in a confident place, it’s a me problem – not his.
“I’ve gone over 8 months celibate now, I was two years celibate before, and I’m proud of that. I only want to have sex when I truly want to – not out of pressure.”
Meg, on the other hand, is trading stability for romance as she enters the villa this summer. Describing herself as a “girl’s girl” with a heart of gold, Meg is already generating buzz before her villa debut.
She’s refreshingly honest, delightfully chaotic, and insists she’s “not your typical Islander.”
With her “mum of the group” vibe, she could be exactly what the villa needs.
“I thought I’d be more nervous, but I actually feel really chilled,” she shared. “Now it’s getting real, and I’m so excited.”
Unlike many Islanders who prep with cosmetic treatments, Meg has kept things natural, aside from a new set of hair extensions. “I’m not someone who does loads of filler. I had a bit two years ago, but that’s it,” she said.
When it comes to love, Meg is ready to dive in headfirst. “If I want a man, I’ll go for it. Don’t hate the player, hate the game,” she joked.
Meg’s candid about her rocky romance history, confessing it’s been “A bit of a shambles,” and she reckons dodgy hygiene from exes has been a massive turn-off. But now, she’s on the hunt for a new beau and wouldn’t mind stirring up some drama along the way.
Sophie, meanwhile, is no stranger to overcoming adversity. Having endured life-altering burns at 22, the model now embraces that tough period as her strength.
She shares her journey to self-love, saying, “Body confidence has been a journey,” and reveals why she previously turned down the show: “That’s why I said no to the show previously-I wasn’t ready. I still had inner work to do. Now, I’m in a place where I feel confident, beautiful, and proud. Beauty isn’t just what you look like. You could wear a bin bag and feel beautiful. For me, it’s about how I feel inside. I’m at a stage where I can handle rejection and know that if something’s not for me, that’s okay.”
