Joe Swash has opened up about his family summer holiday plans as he shares two items he never goes without
Former EastEnders star, Joe Swash, 43, and his wife, Stacey Solomon, are planning to escape to a sunnier location in the coming months, although they haven’t decided on a destination just yet.
Joe revealed that Turkey is one of their top choices, but ultimately, the children will likely have the final say on where they’ll be spending their summer holiday.
Despite not having settled on a location, Joe highlighted two essentials they never leave behind when travelling.
He said, “Stacey likes to travel with a craft box so the kids can stick out things together and do a bit of drawing. But we also like to do things with the younger ones, Belle and Rose.
“Rex not so much now as he’s a bit older and he can swim really well, but we make sure we get the armbands for swimming properly.
“You can go on holiday and then it’s a nightmare if you can’t get the right ones. We always want to make sure they have the right swimming equipment so they’re safe before we go, so we know that box is ticked.”
He also revealed that their holiday plans are often influenced by what the children enjoy most. “Our kids have never really been into kids’ clubs,” he shared. “They love water parks, swimming, playing sports, football and tennis.”
“They’ve got huge amounts of energy to burn off,” he added, joking, “because we’ve got so many of them, there’s never a dull moment. I always say to Stacey that we need a holiday after the holiday.”
Joe revealed that high-energy getaways often include more than just their closest kin. “We do like to go away with a lot of family as well so I’m sure there’s going to be more than just us lot,” he noted.
This summer, Joe has joined forces with Jammie Dodgers, unveiling a one-off Super Soaker manufactured in partnership with Nerf, 100 of which are being dished out each day until the end of July.
The bespoke Super Soaker is crafted to coax kiddies outdoors for some fun in the sunshine during the summer months and school holidays.
Joe shared: “We’re always trying to get the kids out into the garden and we’re chucking water at each other so it’s right up my street. I usually come out on top because I can carry the most water!”
Touching on the collaboration, he commented: “Jammie Dodgers have been in my family for years – I grew up with them, they were something my mum used to buy and it’s something our kids love having as well.”
