Hollywood heartthrob Orlando Bloom has spent £10,000 getting plastics removed from his blood. Film star Orlando has spent the eye-watering amount at a posh London clinic, paying to get the ‘micro plastics’ removed from his body and blood stream.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor opted to have the strange therapy as he was concerned about the levels of toxicity in his body.

The 48-year-old said he wants to rid his body of ‘toxic chemicals’ and went ahead with the two hour treatment at London Harley Street’s Clarify Clinics.

Their website states: “You’ve collected a lifetime of microplastics and man made chemicals. Evolution can’t keep up. Clari is here until it can.”

Experts claim “manmade chemicals” overwhelm our natural defences, which in turn raises the inflammation levels in our body.

They state: “This persistent inflammation wreaks havoc on your body leading to long-term, low-grade inflammation and leads to a variety of health issues and conditions that severely impact the quality of life and longevity of millions of people.”

Among the conditions they claim microplastics can cause on the body include cancer, infertility, respiratory issues, pain and neurological issues.

Scientists have discovered microplstics, which are defined as mini pieces of plastic smaller than 5mm in human blood, organs and even the rain.

The pricey treatment involves removing blood from the arm, and splitting it into red blood cells and plasma.

The plasma, according to the inventor of the procedure David Cohen, is then cleaned of its forever chemicals, micro plastics and toxins with a special machine, before being put back int he body.

It is claimed to remove between 90 and 99% of plastics from the bloodstream. But other doctors are not convinced the expensive therapy does any good at all.

Some scientists have expressed scepticism regarding the clinic’s claims about the procedure – questioning a lack of ‘reliable evidence’ of its benefits and the price.

There’s little evidence that has conclusively proven whether these particles directly cause harm to the body, or that filtering them will provide health benefits.

Emeritus professor Edzard Ernst of the University of Exeter said:”‘I am not aware of reliable evidence showing that the procedure has any of the claimed effects on human health.”
