Reality star Katie Price has given her thoughts on her ex-husband Peter Andre’s marriage to Emily MacDonagh, following a savage comment from her eldest daughter Princess
Katie Price has shared her real feelings about her relationship with ex-husband Peter Andre and his wife, NHS doc Emily MacDonagh.
The ex-glamour girl, 47, confessed that she and Pete have cut the contact, despite sharing two children Junior, 19, and Princess, 17.
Getting into the nitty-gritty of their connection, Katie let slip about their breakup, which even saw them ditch their shared manager. “It’s a shame. It’s a shame. I think there [were] too many chefs around us,” she revealed, and quipped that she’d “like to” have a chat with him in the future.
Pete popped the question to Kate in 2005 after the pair hit it off when they were jungle buddies on the telly favourite I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The pair broke up in 2009, and since then, our Kate’s sauntered up the aisle another couple of times, tying the knot with Alex Reid and then Kieran Hayler, who she shares her youngest kids with, Jett, 11, and Bunny, 10.
These days, she’s all loved-up with 32-year cheeky chap and ‘Married At First Sight’ alum JJ Slater.
Over in Pete’s corner, now a spritely 52, he’s all loved-up with Emily, 35, getting hitched back in 2015 and having another three kids; Theo, Amelia and Arabella.
Offering a rare peek into Pete’s new relationship, Katie had this to say: “I’m glad he’s with Emily. She seems like a proper lady. I think it’d be weird if he went for someone like me.”
Katie opened up on Katherine Ryan’s podcast ‘What’s My Age Again’, reflecting on how her daughter Princess finds it hard to picture Katie and her ex, Peter André, as a couple, saying: “[She says] ‘You’re just so nuts, mum. When I see you and Emily, you’re just so different. I can’t imagine you and dad’.”
Katie retorted: “I said, ‘I was with your dad six years. Trust me, we had a laugh, bantered together, we did’.”
She conveyed her daughter’s disbelief: “She said, ‘I just can’t imagine dad being like that’. I said, ‘But he was, he was like that. We did have a laugh’.”
Price also shared that Princess couldn’t fathom their family dynamic back then: “And, you know, she can’t believe that whenever he went everywhere or me, we were together with the kids. And we’d go as a family.”
Comparing her relationship with Peter to his current partner, she says: “Emily doesn’t do all that for Pete. I said, ‘Me and Pete just did it all together as a family. If we’d got you kids, you would come with us’.”
Discussing the end of her marriage with Peter André, on Paul C Brunson’s podcast ‘We Need To Talk’, Katie blamed a misunderstanding: “We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I’ve never slept with him,” she said.
Katie added context: “I just kept my horse there, and I was happy keeping my horse there, and he [the instructor] was married.”
Describing the moment she learned about their separation, she recounted seeing it relayed on Sky News following an argument.
Refuting rumours of a mutual split, Katie later issued a statement making it clear she didn’t want her relationship with Peter to end.
“Until this day, me and Pete have never sat down and spoken about it. It’s all through lawyers,” she clarified.
“I’ve never sat down with him, we probably would’ve sorted it out but we were kept apart.”
