Liam Payne fans have said they are “not ready” to watch his final TV project, as Netflix confirmed the release date for the new show the late singer worked on before his death
Devastated Liam Payne fans have expressed they’re “not ready” as Netflix revealed the release date of the late singer’s final project.
The singer tragically passed away at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina on October 16 is not found in the provided source text, but has been previously reported to be the date of Liam’s death.
Rising to fame on ITV’s The X Factor, Liam formed One Direction with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan in 2010.
Before his passing, Liam served as a guest judge for a new 10-part series on Netflix. Titled Building the Band, the show will see Liam offering guidance and support to a group of aspiring artists vying to be part of the world’s newest music group.
The synopsis of Building the Band reads: “Building the Band will attempt to answer this question by forming the next great music group, sight unseen.
“A group of talented singers will enter the competition for the opportunity of a lifetime: to find their perfect bandmates solely based on musical compatibility, connection, and, most importantly, merit.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The contestants will be in complete control, with the question remaining if chemistry is enough for success. The bands’ performances will bring drama, artistry, and unforgettable moments.
Liam stepped in as a guest judge on the show, joining the ranks of former X Factor judge Kelly Rowland, who wasn’t on the panel during One Direction’s stint.
Netflix announced on Wednesday (June 11) that Liam’s family ‘reviewed the series and is supportive of his inclusion’, giving their blessing to his posthumous appearance.
The show also boasts connections to the ITV singing contest, with Tony Award-winner Nicole Scherzinger taking on the role of mentor and judge.
Hosted by AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys, Building the Band will see him ‘provide support and guidance to the participants through each phase of the competition until there’s only one band left standing’.
With its first four episodes dropping on Wednesday, July, Building the Band will release new episodes every Wednesday over three weeks.
Following the announcement of the series release, Liam’s fans have been vocal on social media, sharing their thoughts on the programme and paying tribute to him.
One fan tweeted: “I’m not ready to see him again. I know it’s stupid, but seeing him will just shatter my heart all over again, leaving me waiting and wondering when I’ll see him again. Since we know that won’t happen.”
A second chimed in: “My heart won’t be able to take it.”
While a third expressed: “I’m not ready to see him for the last time.”
Meanwhile, another shared: “Oh not sure I’m ready, I know Liam was proud of this I can’t wait for this show.”
A fifth remarked: “I’m not prepared to see him for the last time.”
Meanwhile, another fan typed: “This is so sad that a beautiful soul has been taken from us. I shall be upset to see him on screen because he should be here enjoying his life.”
