Love Island’s Ekin-Su angers fans after she yelps in horror on plane after Air India crash

Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has come under fire after she shared a video of herself looking pained as she yelped in horror on a plane hours after the Air India crash

Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has faced backlash for her social media post after the devastating Air India crash.

The ITV celeb, aged 30, posted a video on her Instagram story just hours following the confirmation that 241 out of 242 passengers perished in the terrible accident near Ahmedabad Airport in western India.

In the clip, Ekin-Su is seen inside an aircraft, filming herself and shaking her head with a yelp, captioning it: “I hate HATE turbulence!” Her followers have since called for her to take down the insensitive post, with one commenting: “Girl you need to delete your recent story asap.”

This incident follows apologies from TOWIE’s Mark Wright and McFly’s Tom Fletcher for their own posts after the tragedy.

Mark Wright, along with his wife Michelle Keegan, had been documenting their Spanish getaway on Instagram, featuring their three-month-old baby Palma. He uploaded a photo in front of a private jet, joking about cramped legroom on regular flights, saying: “1 day babe, for now we’ll take row 26 with no extra leg room.”

Following criticism, he expressed regret for the “mistake,” explaining to his followers that the post was pre-scheduled and has now been removed, calling it a “horrendous coincidence”, reports the Mirror.

Mark penned: “I apologise for a post I just put up on my page after today’s heartbreaking events. I have posts from a holiday that are on the scheduled setting, which go out on future days I have set them for, which was done last week.”

The father-of-one elaborated in his statement, explaining it was merely a “coincidence” that the post went live on the same day as the Air India tragedy. He informed his followers that once he noticed the blunder, he “immediately” took down the post.

“It’s a horrendous coincidence that today’s post was on such a devastating day. Once I logged in to my Instagram and realised the post had gone out, I immediately deleted I.T.,” he remarked.

The ex-TOWIE celeb wrapped up by extending his condolences to those impacted by the air disaster. He stated: “My heart goes out to everyone who has been effected from today. I’m sorry for this mistake and any offence caused.”

In a similar vein, McFly’s Tom apologised after he inadvertently shared a plane-related post on his Instagram story, which he swiftly removed upon catching up with the news. He acknowledged: “Sorry, I’ve only just seen the terrible news about the Air India crash.”

To express his regret on Instagram, he continued: “So awful. Had I known earlier, I obviously wouldn’t have posted about my flight today. I understand why that much have looked insensitive and have deleted it. Thanks for letting me know. My whole heart goes out to everyone involved in the crash and all their friends and families.”
