Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz, have reportedly forked out a cool £10.5million for a swanky pad in Hollywood, leaving their previous rental for dust. Amidst whispers of a rift with the rest of the Beckham brood, this posh purchase might just add fuel to the fire.
The supposed strife is kicking up a notch as Brooklyn appeared to give his dad David’s knighthood, bestowed in the King’s Birthday Honours List last weekend, the cold shoulder on social media and didn’t bother to big him up on Father’s Day either. Plus, he was noticeably absent for David’s 50th birthday bash.
While David celebrated his long-awaited knighthood, Brooklyn kept quiet, a move that’s said to have got his mum Victoria fuming mad and gutted by his apparent snub.
“The whole family is devastated by the current situation. The tension had been there for a while but no-one thought in a million years that it would turn this toxic,” sources said.
“Victoria can’t fathom why Brooklyn hasn’t been in touch to apologise. She’s furious with him, but also heartbroken,” an inside source dished to Heat Magazine recently, reports the Mirror.
With the young couple bagging their new LA digs, the rift with the Beckhams could well deepen.
Talking about the plush five-bedroom, six-bathroom residence, a source told The Sun that Brooklyn reckons his future’s state-side now.
“As an influencer he can work from anywhere but Brooklyn believes he has more opportunities in LA. It will be a dagger to the heart for his parents,” the source revealed.
The insider suggested that there was hope his life in America wouldn’t be “permanent”, but “this house purchase quashes any last hopes.”
Yet, another source contradicted this to the Mirror, stating: “This house has nothing to do with family dynamics. Both Nicola and Brooklyn’s careers are based in Los Angeles, and Brooklyn spent part of his childhood there while his father played for LA Galaxy.
“During that time, he attended school in LA for several years and built a life and friendships in the city. LA has always felt like home to him.”
Following David’s official knighthood, Victoria expressed her adoration for her husband on social media by posting a charming snap of her pecking him on the cheek.
Her caption read affectionately: “You’ve always been my knight in shining armour, but now it’s official. Sir @davidbeckham! ! ! What an honour, I couldn’t be prouder of you.
“Your dedication to the things that matter most – your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family – has never wavered. The way you’ve touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us everyday.
