Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis has confirmed that she and boyfriend Joe McKalroy have split up, just a short time after she welcomed a baby boy with her former partner
Stephanie Davis has announced her break up with boyfriend Joe McKalroy, following a week of whispers about their relationship.
The 32 year old Hollyoaks star and Joe started dating in 2022 and share a five-month-old son named Samuel together.
Gossip about the end of their love affair began last weekend when Stephanie posted a Father’s Day message that conspicuously left out any nod to her child’s dad. More comments dropped by the soap celeb added fuel to the fire regarding the split.
On Sunday, Stephanie took to social media to put an end to the rumours, confirming she and Joe have parted ways and she is bracing to raise her little one alone.
She did not explain what led to the end of their once solid relationship.
Taking to Instagram Stories, she wrote: “Never in a million years did I think I’d be writing this. I’ve been left with no choice but to address the rumours.”
She added: “This has come as a complete shock and has been an incredibly painful and unexpected time. Just four months after having a baby – one of the most vulnerable and emotional times in a woman’s life – I’ve found myself facing this chapter on my own.”
Alluding to her previous rocky relationship with reality star Jeremy McConnell, father to her seven year old son, she continued: “After everything I’ve been through in the past, I truly believed I’d finally found my happiness – something secure and lasting. But that, heartbreakingly, hasn’t been the case.”
Stephanie continued to pen: “I’m grateful for the years we had because without us I wouldn’t have my Samuel. Who will always be my priority.”
She wrapped up her message by saying: “Right now, I’m focusing on healing, protecting my peace, and doing the best I can – being there for my two beautiful boys. Thank you to those who’ve reached out – your kindness has meant more than I can say. Stephanie X.”
This heartfelt update followed closely on the heels of an earlier social media post celebrating her son, Samuel’s five-month milestone, with no mention of Joe, reports the Mirror.
To the astonishment of her followers, she wrote: “This Day 5 months ago you came into this world. Only 5 months old today ( I know he’s still a tiny baby). It’s crazy to think he’s not been out in this world as long as he was in my tummy.”
The post further read: “From nearly losing you in the beginning, the worst pregnancy, C.Diff, I couldn’t walk with pelvic girdle trapped in the house for months and months, a terrible birth, then lifting doing every night feed lifting after a C-section , then your breathing episodes which was the scariest time of my life, it’s been a long hard traumatic road.
“But here you are thriving my miricale my rainbow… my world… Everything I do is for you and your brother and I will always be here every single day for you, cheering you on.”
She added: “I’m so lucky getting to watch you grow every single day by your side into the most beautiful little boy. It So sad I don’t have many photos of me and you bar selfies I’ve taken, but from now on I’ll make sure we have many thogether. You will always be my priority. I love you baby.”
