Stars had to follow an odd rule while filming Celebrity Traitors last month. The 19 famous faces were told they were banned from knowing what time was during their stint on the BBC show
Stars competing on the celebrity version of The Traitors were banned from knowing the time.
Producers insisted on the bonkers rule during filming last month. It left the famous contestants on edge.
Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed said: “The way that they create that show such that you are immersed in the game is phenomenal.
“We weren’t even allowed to know the time. When we were in the castle you’d be like, ‘What’s the time?’ And they’d say, ‘It’s Traitors time’. That was their response.
“Every single member of production had to answer with that. They are so clever, but in the best possible way.”
It’s just one of a series of rules they had to follow during their time at Ardross Castle in Scotland. They were also supervised during any phone calls with loved ones.
Nick added: “All your devices are taken from you. I was allowed one conversation a day with the kids. You are isolated from the outside world.”
The rules made the game extra stressful for the stars.
Nick said: “The game is the game and you do get sucked into it even though it’s a game and we were doing it for charity rather than personal finances.”
Other contestants on the series include Alan Carr, Kate Garraway, Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church, Stephen Fry and Celia Imrie.
Nick said: “It’s a really hearty show. They don’t want people to clash. It’s not that kind of show. It’s not Big Brother.
“They’ve got nice people who come from different walks of life and have different personalities. But it’s a very feel-good show. We just had an absolute blast.”

Presenter Stephen recently admitted was a surreal experience.
He said: “You know it is absolutely agony, but you sort of want to do it again. It is emotionally violent but you kind of love it.
“Obviously, I can’t say a word about what is in this recently recorded celebrity version I suppose.”
He added: “I was with a fascinating group of people. They were lovely, an extraordinary bunch. We all got on terribly well until the game started. There is something about the structure of that game.
“I mean, that’s what I agreed to do it. I’m not trying to make a grand or anything.”
The Traitors has become a TV sensation since launching in 2022. Its most recent series pulled in more than 10million viewers.
