Rihanna is expecting her third child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky – and the gender may have been revealed on a star-studded red carpet in a very awkward moment
A$AP Rocky may have inadvertently revealed the gender of his third child with pop sensation Rihanna.
The singer, who is expecting her third bundle of joy with the 36-year-old rapper, shared the happy news whilst gracing the a recent red carpet.
Rihanna, already a proud mum to two lads, RZA, two, and Riot, 21 months, confessed she isn’t feeling ‘too overwhelmed’ by her pregnancy, despite an initial surprise. She’s even managed to get back into the studio whilst pregnant, having released Friends of Mine for the new Smurfs film.
The hitmaker behind Umbrella lends her voice to Smurfette in the latest Smurfs flick, which had its global premiere in Belgium on Sunday. A$AP was there to cheer on Rihanna as they made their way to the Mont des Arts in Brussels.
On the red carpet, ET’s Kevin Frazier posed a rather direct question: “Is that the girl you’ve been waiting for?” To which the rapper responded: ‘It is, man, it is. “However, A$AP seemed to realise he might have let the cat out of the bag as he then held up a plush Smurfette doll and joked: “Right here, you know what I’m saying? Right here.”
“Fans were quick to speculate that A$AP had unintentionally revealed their baby’s gender, with one exclaiming: “It’s [a] girl!” Another chimed in: “He definitely gave it away. ” A third remarked: “How cutely he promoted the movie and showed his love for her!
“A fourth fan gushed: “That’s a real man supporting his girl.” The reporter even managed to quiz Rihanna about their baby, although she remained more tight-lipped in her response. She responded: “‘Let’s see if it’s a Smurfette…It could be a Papa Smurf. Who knows?” However, she did confirm that they are going to carry on the tradition and give their newborn a name that begins with ‘R’.
Rihanna admitted: “That’s the one thing me and Rocky don’t fight over.” When questioned about plans for more children, the singer quipped: “We [are] going to be like the Wayans’ family, you know? Yeah, I mean, love is beautiful and it’s just [about] spreading it. “
Fans have been thrilled by Rihanna’s return to the studio; however, they’ve voiced their disappointment that it wasn’t for a new album. One user posted: “When we said we wanted new music, this isn’t what we meant. ig we’ll take what we can get.”
While another fan eager for new music added: “I thought she was about to bless us with music-’cause lately, my soul’s been out here starving like it’s on a diet of broken headphones and bad vibes.”
After Rihanna confirmed her pregnancy, the Diamond singer was asked if the album, affectionately nicknamed ‘R9’, would be ‘put on pause even longer’. Rihanna replied to Entertainment Tonight: “No, maybe a couple of videos. ” Fans have been keenly anticipating this album for nine years, but RiRi playfully suggested that plans are still progressing. She cheekily stated: “I can sing!”
Discussing her pregnancy, she expressed: “I’m good! I’m shockingly feeling ok, and not too overwhelmed at the moment. At first it was kinda like, ‘Ahhh!'”
