James Bond bosses have reportedly narrowed down their shortlist for the new 007 to just three names.

Saltburn star Jacob Elordi, Spider-Man’s Tom Holland and Babygirl actor Harris Dickinson are said to be top of Amazon’s wish list to play the famous spy.

Sources claimed that the studio and producers are interested in casting a British actor under the age of 30 and think those three would fit the mould perfectly.

And although Jacob, 28, is from Down Under, he is still seen to be among the top choices.

He wouldn’t be the first Aussie to take on the role, after George Lazenby played the spy in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in 1969.

Amazon announced on Wednesday that Denis Villeneuve – best known for directing Warner Bros.’ two-part Dune adaptation – has signed on to direct the new Bond film, which doesn’t yet have a title.

The filmmaker will also serve as executive producer of the project alongside Tanya Lapointe.

Amazon had previously said Amy Pascal and David Heyman would produce the film after parting ways with long-term producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, the daughter and stepson of Albert Broccoli, who launched the film franchise in 1962.

The giant change in direction comes three years after Amazon completed its massive $8.5billion acquisition of MGM Studios that included the Bond franchise.

The last Bond film was released in 2021 with No Time to Die, the last film featuring Daniel Craig.

Denis Villeneuve said: “Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr. No with Sean Connery.

“I’m a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he’s sacred territory. I intend to honour the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come.
