Sir Rod Stewart has taken to social media to thank fans for their support following his iconic Glastonbury performance, which left fans in awe on the Pyramid Stage
Sir Rod Stewart dazzled the Pyramid Stage on Sunday, sending Glastonbury festival enthusiasts into a frenzy. The 80-year-old legendary singer performed in the coveted legend’s slot on the final day at Worthy Farm, impressing the crowd with his enduring hits and surprise appearances by Ronnie Wood and Lulu.
Following his show-stopping performance, Sir Rod took to social media to share his thoughts, prompting an outpouring of support from fans.
After being forced to cancel several US shows in early June due to flu recovery, Sir Rod demonstrated his remarkable resilience. He has also announced plans to scale back his touring schedule after 2025, opting for more intimate performances.
Nevertheless, the rock icon delivered an unforgettable set, with some fans hailing him as the standout act of this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
On Tuesday, the father-of-eight shared a heartfelt video montage of his Pyramid Stage performance, expressing his gratitude to the audience with a poignant four-word message: “You lot were magic,” reports the Express.
Sir Rod also tweeted: “What an honour to play the Pyramid Stage and what a crowd.”
Fans rallied around him, with one admirer praising: “You were magic Rod. Best by far all weekend.”
Another supporter tweeted: “Sadly wasn’t there, watched you on TV. You were bloody amazing. National treasure. Thank you xx.”
A third fan gushed: “One of the best performances ever.”

Following his performance, Sir Rod spoke with Jo Whiley for the BBC and BBC Radio 2, confessing to feeling emotional.
“Yes, a little bit teary eyed,” he shared with Jo. “It’s just such an emotional event. Especially if you’re British. This is our Woodstock and there’s nothing bigger in the world and we do it the best.”
When asked if his performances have taken on more significance since turning 80 in January, Sir Rod responded: “Yes they do because I won’t be back.
“This is my Glastonbury moment. My World Cup final. I’ve got to sit down tomorrow and take it all in, how responsive the audience were. I could retire tomorrow – but I won’t.”
The legendary singer joined a prestigious line-up, including James Brown, Diana Ross, and Shania Twain, who have all performed in the tea-time slot at the globally renowned festival.
This follows after Sir Rod had to cancel a series of tour dates, including his milestone 200th Las Vegas residency show, due to health issues last summer.
