Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied bail in a New York court.
Judge Arun Subramanian has denied bail for Sean “Diddy” Combs after he was found guilty of two of the five charges against him. The disgraced singer will now remain in custody as he awaits sentencing.
The jury found Diddy, 55, guilty of transportation for the prostitution of Cassie, now 38, and others. He was also found guilty of transportation for prostitution of Jane and others by the jury. Each charge holds a maximum sentence of 10 years.
However, he was cleared of three out of five charges as the jury delivered their verdict following three days of intense deliberation.

The former hip-hop tycoon was acquitted of two counts of sex trafficking and one count of racketeering conspiracy.
The decision comes after Cassie Ventura’s lawyer Doug Wigdor submitted a letter to judge Subramanian requesting Combs be denied bail over safety concerns for his client.
He wrote: “Ms. Ventura believes that Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community.”
This decision will be a blow to Diddy, who was denied bail three seperate times throughout the case. The judge said that he previously denied bail when it wasn’t mandatory before the trial and “sees no reason to reach the opposite conclusion now.”
He then began quoting the defense at different instances when Combs’ lawyers acknowledged his violence toward his former girlfriends.
“At trial, the defense conceded defendant’s violence in personal relationships saying ‘it happened’ in relation to Cassie Venture and Jane,” Subramanian said.

Prosecutor Maurene Comey says the judge is correct in his decision to keep Sean “Diddy” Combs in detention, calling him an extremely violent man with a danger temper.
What’s exceptional about Combs, Comey said, “is his wealth, his violence and his brazenness.”
“He’s an extremely violent man with an extraordinarily dangerous temper who has shown no remorse and no regret for his multiple victims,” Comey said.
Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo appealed to the judge one more time saying in part, “Listening to Ms. Comey makes me appreciate that we have juries.”
Judge Subramanian has proposed a sentencing date of October 3 at 10 a.m. ET, but said he is willing to move up the sentencing date at the defense’s request.
Diddy has consistently maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty to all charges levelled against him. He also denies any allegations of misconduct, including those made in civil lawsuits.
Reports from inside the court room said the rapper prayed with his children and hugged his lawyers as the verdict was read out. The BBC said there was an “explosion” of noise when the counts were read aloud. Combs continued to pump his right fist subtly, seemingly satisfied that he was acquitted on the most serious charges.
