Oasis Cardiff gig ‘live-stream confirmed’ for fans who missed out on tickets

An Oasis fan has helped out those who couldn’t get hold of tickets.

One person at the first Oasis reunion gig at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium [4 July] came to the rescue by live streaming the event on YouTube. As of now, over 15,000 people have tuned into the attendee’s channel to watch Richard Ashcroft from The Verve perform.

Thousands of fans flocked to the Welsh capital for the historic event, marking the first time Liam and Noel Gallagher have shared a stage in 16 years. Viewers expressed their gratitude for the live stream in the chat, with one user commenting: “Cheers mate for sharing the show.”

“Thank you mate, please keep on doing this,” another person posted. One added: “Better than the expensive tickets Ticketmaster pricing used.”

In the live video, the sound of fans singing along could be heard as the stadium filled with eager spectators awaiting the main act.

Richard then commended the crowd inside the stadium, telling them: “What a crowd tonight. It couldn’t have happened in a better place. This one is for Earls Court. For Knebworth,” reports the Mirror.

Doors to the show opened at 5pm and excited fans were quick to secure their place at the front of the crowd, ready for the brothers to take the stage at 8.15pm.

Cast were the first support act to perform, with the Scouse band delivering an emotional tribute to late Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota.

Noel Gallagher’s ex-wife, Meg Mathews, was spotted in the crowd getting ready to enjoy Richard Ashcroft’s performance. Mathews was married to the rocker from 1997 to 2001 and appeared to be in high spirits.

The band’s surprise comeback was announced in August 2024, with the band stating: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

The initial ticket rush was sparked by the announcement of 17 dates across London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Dublin. The band later added more concerts in North America, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Chile, and Argentina, giving fans worldwide the opportunity to experience their hits live once again.
