Beloved children’s TV presenter dies after ‘short illness’ as tributes pour in

TV presenter Glen Michael has sadly died.

The 99-year-old was suffering a short illness before his passing and his family recently confirmed the news. He rose to fame presenting Glen Michael’s Cartoon Cavalcade on STV for almost 26 years from 1966 to 1992.

The Scottish show was popular with kids and followed the presenter as he showed cartoons, spoke with friends and played with his dogs Rudi and Rusti.

Glen’s show won the Scottish ITV Programme of the Year Award back in 1975. STV have described the host as a “legend” and said he will be remembered as a “wonderful performer and personality”.

With his wee dug and his talking lamp Paladin. His ‘Cartoon Cavalcade’ was a godsend for kids when we had a tiny amount of TV channels.”
