American Idol exec and husband shot dead at home after burglar breaks in

American Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye has died at the age of 70 after being shot in the head. She was found dead at home alongside her husband Thomas Deluca, 70, who had also been shot in the head.

Los Angeles police were called to a home on White Oak Place on Monday (July 14) to perform a welfare check on the couple, who had not been seen for a number of days. They found the couple with gunshot wounds to the head, and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Paying tribute, an American Idol spokesperson told Deadline: “We are devastated to hear of Robin and her husband, Tom’s, passing. Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”

Police later arrested suspect Raymond Boodarian, 22, of Encino in connection with the two murders.

According to police, a radio call had come through for a possible burglary at the home on July 10 at around 4pm.

However they found no sign of forced entry.

They now believe the suspect had got in through an unlocked door and then killed Kaye and Tom when they returned home.

An LAPD spokesperson said no motive had been found yet, and the investigation is continuing.

Kaye had a long history in music, having worked in artist development before eventually launching her company SyncroniCity.

It represented labels and artists including Andrea Bocelli and Donnie Osmond, among others.

It then moved to focus on music television shows, such as American Idol.
