Stephen Mulhern show exposed as audience unveil ‘fake scenes and hectic filming’

One fan of a well-known ITV show, hosted by Stephen Mulhern, went to the studio to take part in filming and has detailed what they saw behind-the-scenes…

An audience member filmed “fake” scenes used in Stephen Mulhern’s TV show.

A new season of You Bet! is soon to hit ITV starring Mulhern as host, and the gameshow features people with extraordinary talents who take on big challenges in front of an audience.

The show is filmed in various locations around the country and one fan has revealed some backstage secrets.

One person who was in the audience told the Express: “Stephen was lovely. He made sure to go and greet every single audience member and allowed time for selfies and a quick natter. It seemed like he really cared about his fans and, despite a hectic filming schedule, he still made time for everyone who turned up.”

They also saw something very unexpected: “There was one thing that did surprise me. As someone who is never on a TV set, I quickly learnt that there are some parts added in for dramatic effect.”

“For example, the presenters were filmed giving several different reactions, as were the audience. We were asked to boo, to clap and to excitedly cheer but it was random and not while anything was actually happening.”

“It seemed it was recorded so that editors could cut it and pop it in wherever they pleased.”

They explained that Stephen and guests “also cheered and shouted how close the challenge was when nothing was even happening”. The fan revealed: “They were screaming: ‘Come on, you can do it,’ but no one was doing anything! It left the audience a bit perplexed but then I realised it was a little bit fake.”

“They also redid some shots to get them reacting in different ways to whatever was happening. In a way it took the excitement out of it, but it was still a really good day and I can’t wait to see how things are changed once it’s actually on TV.”

Mulhern said he is “thrilled” that the show is back for another round(Image: ITV)

Daily Star have reached out to ITV for a comment on the matter.

Mulhern recently admitted that he is “absolutely thrilled” that the show is “hitting the road” and is looking forward to filming with “a top celeb panel as contestants take on some brilliantly bonkers and amazing challenges.”
