Alice Cooper thinks Ozzy Osbourne has compromised his health for the sake of “rock ‘n’ roll”. Following Ozzy’s final live performance at the Black Sabbath reunion gig at Villa Park in Birmingham, Alice, 77, expressed concerns that his friend, 76, wasn’t in “good shape” and may have dedicated too much of his life to being a rock star.

In an interview with The Times, Alice – whose real name is Vincent Furnier – said: “Ozzy deserved that farewell [concert] He survived rock’n’roll but not physically as well as he should have.

“I saw some of the show and he was not in great shape. People shouldn’t give their whole lives, their health, to rock’n’roll. Life is bigger than that.”

Over the years, Ozzy has faced various health challenges, including spinal problems stemming from a 2003 quad bike accident, injuries from a subsequent fall, infections, and a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis.

However, Ozzy has previously credited quitting booze and drugs after decades of addiction issues with improving his health, although he still occasionally smokes marijuana.

Speaking on the Madhouse Chronicles Podcast, Ozzy revealed: “I am happier, but I am not completely sober. I use a bit of marijuana from time to time.”

He also mentioned that his wife Sharon keeps a close eye on him to prevent him from falling back into bad habits, even going so far as to confiscate his joints if she finds them lying around. He continued: “Even with marijuana she will f****** find it and get rid of it.”

Ozzy previously revealed Sharon suggested the idea of a Black Sabbath reunion gig as a way of lifting his spirits due to his ongoing health concerns.

Speaking to the Guardian, he said: “You wake up the next morning and find that something else has gone wrong. You begin to think this is never going to end.

“Sharon saw I was hitting rock bottom, and she said to me: ‘I’ve got an idea.’ It was something to give me motivation to start my day.

“I thought: ‘Oh, f****** hell, she’s got an idea. Here we go.”
