Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has issued a warning to fans about the jumbotron at his gigs after the CEO of Astronomer and the company’s HR Head were seen on the big screen
Coldplay’s Chris Martin couldn’t help but issue a cheeky warning about the jumbotron after an ex-CEO and HR Head of Astronomer were caught in an intimate moment on the big screen at one of their recent concerts. The pair, lost in the music, were spotted in a close embrace, swaying to the rhythm of the live performance.
The couple’s romantic moment was broadcast for all to see, leading to a hasty retreat from the limelight once they realised they were the centre of attention. Chris, spotting the duo onscreen, quipped, “Oh look at these two. Either they are having an affair or they’re just really shy.”
The incident quickly became a sensation online, racking up millions of views.
At their next show on July 19 at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Chris didn’t directly mention the previous event but made light of the jumbotron situation.
Addressing the audience, he joked, “We’d like to say hello to some of you in the crowd and put some of you on the big screen. How we’re going to do that is we’re going to use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen,”, reports the Mirror.
He playfully added, “Please, if you haven’t done your makeup, do your makeup now!” Fans were charmed by his humorous approach and took to social media to express their amusement.
Comments poured in under a video of his announcement, with one fan writing: “Love his sense of humour. Well played,” while another commented: “Hahaha love how he is smiling while saying this!”.
Another fan expressed their curiosity, posting: “I wondered what they would do after the incident!”.
In a recent statement posted on LinkedIn and X, the CEO announced: “As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding.”
They continued by highlighting the importance of leadership standards: “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met. Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.”
The company is now on the hunt for a new leader: “The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO. Before this week, we were known as a pioneer in the DataOps space, helping data teams power everything from modern analytics to production AI.”
Despite recent events, the CEO assured continuity in their mission: “While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not. We’re continuing to do what we do best: helping our customers with their toughest data and AI problems.”
