He leaves behind his son Christopher Troupe, daughter-in-law Becky Coulter, and granddaughter Ashley Troupe. The legendary actor was married to Carole Cook, famed for her role in Sixteen Candles, from 1964 until her unfortunate passing due to heart failure at 98 in 2023.

Tom led a full life, which began when he relocated to New York in 1948 to study at the Herbert Berghof Studio in Manhattan. His journey took a dramatic turn when he served in the Korean War, earning a Bronze Star for his service during the conflict that spanned from 1950 to 1953.
Following his service, Tom welcomed his son Christopher with his first wife Sally before their separation in 1962. He then returned to New York and made his Broadway debut as Peter van Daan in The Diary of Anne Frank in 1957, reports the Mirror.
Troupe also co-founded The Faculty, a Los Angeles-based acting school, alongside Charles Nelson Reilly, Lu Leonard, John Erman, and Dom DeLuise.
Tom’s acting career soared as he relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he thrived in the world of drama. Memorable roles included his portrayal of David Day in the Mission: Impossible TV series and Lieutenant Matthew Harold in Star Trek.
Tom also made a name for himself with performances in The Fugitive, Wild West, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Cagney & Lacey, Murder She Wrote, CHiPs, and Knots Landing.
Devastated fans have been pouring in their condolences following the news of the actor’s death, with one heartbroken fan writing on X: “May he rest in peace.”
Another commented: “That leaves Clint Eastwood as the last surviving cast member of Kelly’s Heroes,” while a third shared: “RIP Tom Troupe.”
