Chris Hughes has openly declared JoJo Siwa as the “love of his life”. The ex-Love Island star and Dance Moms sensation have made their romance public last month, having hit it off on Celebrity Big Brother earlier in the year, with Chris gushing about their unique bond.

Speaking to E! News, the 32-year-old expressed: “She’s literally the love of my life, but she’s also my best friend. Like, we sit and do nothing together.”

Despite being an item for a while, Chris revealed they only recently enjoyed their first official date, opting usually for cosy time together at home. He reminisced about their outing, saying: “We went up to Malibu and we went for a lovely dinner and it was like a date night. On the way back – it was like an hour drive home – we parked up and we said to each other, ‘That was actually our first proper date together.'” Chris elaborated on how their relationship has evolved, noting that although they’ve shared meals with friends and family, this was their first solo venture.

The TV personality added that the date reinforced his feeling that he and 22-year-old Jojo are perfectly suited. He concluded: “We spend so much time with each other, just us captivated in this little world in our living room. But we actually went out and it didn’t hit us until we got home that that was actually our first proper date. So, it was lovely.”

Last month, JoJo hinted at a deep commitment by sharing her musings about potentially tying the knot with Chris.

In a heartfelt chat with TMZ, JoJo gushed: “He is my favourite person in the world… It’s beautiful, it kind of radiates. He’s my favourite person and I am very grateful and very happy.”

The ex-Nickelodeon sensation also dismissed any notion that her relationship with Chris was just for show.

Speaking to The Guardian, she asserted: “Clearly, you’ve never been around us. I won’t ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now. Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I’ve never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.”

Yet, JoJo does acknowledge the public’s fascination with her and Chris’s pairing.

She admitted: “People can see our chemistry, and they got to see it develop. I think everyone’s just curious, and I can’t blame them.”
