Rocker Liam Gallagher has given the green light to love rats at Oasis’ comeback gigs by making a cheeky gag about the ‘affair-revealing’ Coldplay kiss-cam moment
Love cheats won’t be exposed on Kiss Cam screens at Oasis gigs, Liam Gallagher has promised. He gave a jokey nod to a viral video that’s taken the world by storm as part of a dig against his old rivals Coldplay.
Liam, 52, told fans it was none of his or Oasis’ business who fans were getting “tingly” and “mingly” with at their comeback gigs. It comes after a couple were caught out on Kiss Cam at the Yellow group’s gig – despite being married separately.
Liam joked at the group’s final homecoming show in Heaton Park, Manchester: “Right then, do we have any love birds in the house?
“Don’t worry – we ain’t got any of that Coldplay snidey f**king camera s**t. This one’s for the love birds anyway. Doesn’t matter to us who you’re mingling with – or tingly with. None of our f**king business.”
Liam was referring to the now-infamous alleged affair revealing Kiss Cam moment at Coldplay’s concert in Boston’s Gillette Stadium last week. It saw frontman Chris Martin joke about a couple caught on camera cuddling – before it emerged they were apparently having a fling.
The pair caught on camera who were later identified as Andy Byron, 50, and Kristin Cabot, both executives at software firm Astronomer.
They are both married to other people and live at different addresses from their spouses.
Chris, 48, had said: “Oh, look at these two – either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
The clip rapidly gained traction online, viewed over 120 million times.
Following the incident, Astronomer has confirmed Andy Byron’s resignation, stating: “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.
“While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not.”
