Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter Aimee has shunned the family fame and kept a low profile, but has still had a heartbreaking bond with her sibling
Aimee Osbourne, unlike her famous relatives Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly, and Jack, has always shied away from the limelight, opting for a life out of the public gaze. The world mourns as Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22. His family released a touching statement to confirm the devastating news.
They shared: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.
“Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.” The tragic event comes just weeks after Black Sabbath’s final bow on stage, reports the Express.
Ozzy, aged 76, had been courageously fighting Parkinson’s disease since being diagnosed in 2019. The Osbourne family burst onto TV screens in 2002 with their MTV reality show, giving viewers a peek into the lives of Ozzy and Sharon’s children, Kelly, 39, and Jack, 38.
However, many fans were oblivious to the fact that Sharon, known for Celebrity Big Brother, and Ozzy, the Black Sabbath superstar, had another daughter, Aimee, now 41, as reported by WalesOnline.
While her siblings became household names through the success of ‘The Osbournes’, Aimee sought privacy, moving out at 16 as the rest of the family embarked on their reality TV adventure.
“I’m not some weirdo depressed daughter that’s afraid of the world and locks herself in her room all day; I just didn’t choose to do the show,” Aimee has candidly revealed on American television. “I want to be a singer, and I felt if I’d stayed with the Osbournes and done the whole thing I would have been typecast right away. [Mum] was hurt and we definitely had a tough time with disagreements. I’m more reserved and my private life is very important.”
Opting to shun the limelight, Aimee moved out of the family residence at merely 16 when filming commenced, a choice Sharon has subsequently admitted she bitterly regrets.
Now aged 41, Aimee appears ready to grant the public fleeting insights into her existence, frequently utilising Instagram to display her most recent musical endeavours.
This past June, Aimee was snapped departing a Manchester hotel with Wes Leavins from the group Bridgette Calls Me Baby, who are presently on a UK tour, igniting speculation about a potential romance involving the Osbourne offspring.
Previously, Aimee celebrated a major professional achievement with a heartfelt Instagram update, detailing her inaugural recording session at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.
She urged her supporters to persevere through challenging times, looking back on twelve months packed with ‘heartbreak and twists and turns’.
Performing under the moniker ARO, Aimee dropped her most recent track, Siren, via Fjora Music in November 2024.
Her first single, Raining Gold, saw its release in 2015. Aimee has candidly expressed regret over not staying at home longer, while her mother Sharon was heartbroken by her departure.
Speaking on The Talk in 2018, Sharon disclosed: “She felt too that she didn’t want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea – it was appalling to her,” and added, “And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did. It broke my heart when she moved.”
Despite the family tensions, Aimee’s passion for music has never waned, although her relationship with sister Kelly has unfortunately soured over the years. In a revealing 2021 chat on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, Kelly opened up about their estrangement, stating: “We don’t talk,” and explained, “We’re just really different. She doesn’t understand me and I don’t understand her.”
This comes after Aimee herself spoke about their difficult relationship back in 2015 during an interview with The Independent, where she said: “I wouldn’t say there is an ease between us, but there is an acceptance. Do we socialise? No.”
