Long before the bat-biting incident, or his other wild moments, it appears Ozzy Osbourne was a bit of a cutie, according to his fans. The music world is mourning the death of Black Sabbath icon Ozzy, after wife Sharon and his family confirmed his passing in a statement.

He was known for his black hair and crazy facial expressions on stage, but before then he looked, well, pretty normal. A throwback photo from the 1970s has been doing the rounds on social media, with fans amazed that the man in the photo would turn out to be the Prince of Darkness.

In the photo, a 26-year-old Ozzy can be seen looking wistfully off as he perches his chin on his hand. If people were unsure of who it was, he has OZZY tattooed on his fingers.

A ‘cute’ photo of Ozzy Osbourne has sent fans wild

Rather than the gothic black hair and sunglasses, he has mousey brown her and a bit of stubble. The black clothes are nowhere to be seen, either, as he wears a brown top and gold chain necklace.

While many people shared their tributes to Ozzy, others couldn’t quite believe the photo they were seeing.

One said: “So cute.” Another wrote: “The Prince of Darkness was really just a cutie patootie.”

Someone else noted: “He looks so much like [daughter] Kelly here.” Another added: “He was so f****** handsome!”

One asked: “Is it too early to say he was so yummy in these pics?” And someone else said: “Look how cute he looked.”

At the time of the photo, Ozzy was in Black Sabbath already, he just hadn’t adopted the look that he would become famous for. He was the vocalist for the band from 1970 until 1978, before he was fired due to alcohol and drug problems.

Ozzy’s use of drugs was said to be the most unhealthiest of the band, despite the other members also being involved with alcohol or narcotics.

His first experience with cocaine had been in 1971 in a Colorado hotel after a Black Sabbath show. He said that Leslie West, the guitarist of Mountain, introduced him to it.

Ozzy would say after: “When you come from Aston and you fall in love with cocaine, you remember when you started. It’s like having your first f***!”

He said after he first took cocaine, “the world went a bit fuzzy”.
