Kelly Osbourne has broken her silence after the tragic death of her father Ozzy Osbourne earlier this week. The Black Sabbath legend died at the age of 76
Kelly Osbourne has spoken out following the heartbreaking loss of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, earlier this week.
The iconic Black Sabbath frontman, adored by fans as The Prince of Darkness, had faced health challenges in recent years and performed his last concert just a few weeks prior to his passing. Ozzy passed away at the age of 76 on Tuesday July 22, leaving his wife Sharon utterly heartbroken by the loss of her soulmate.
Two days after Ozzy’s death, Kelly posted lyrics from the Black Sabbath track “Changes” to her Instagram Stories, in a moving homage that reflects a poignant moment shared between father and daughter.
“Changes,” penned by Ozzy Osbourne and his bandmates, originally graced the airwaves in 1972 courtesy of Black Sabbath. Fast forward to 2003, Ozzy and his daughter Kelly reimagined the classic as a heartfelt duet, tweaking the lyrics to echo their familial tie, reports the Mirror.
The revamped tune soared to the top of the UK charts, marking them as only the second father-daughter duo to achieve this feat since Frank and Nancy Sinatra’s success in 1967.
Kelly has recently taken to Instagram to share an emotional update, posting: “I feel unhappy I am so sad,” on Thursday, July 24. “I lost the best friend I ever had.”
While Ozzy’s sisters have expressed their sorrow over their brother’s passing, describing him as “loving and funny”.
The Osbourne family released a joint statement saying: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”
Ozzy’s former bandmates from Black Sabbath have also shared poignant tributes.
Devastated fans have been paying homage outside his Buckinghamshire residence and at the Black Sabbath bridge in Birmingham, leaving bouquets and heartfelt notes at the gates. In a poignant tribute, half-finished pints and beer bottles are placed alongside candles, as admirers raise a glass to the rock legend at Birmingham’s Black Sabbath bridge.
A confidant disclosed to People details about Ozzy’s final days, revealing, “Ozzy’s final days were spent in England, surrounded by family, music and in the place he called home. He was in peace.”
