Masked robbers smashed their way into Harry Redknapp’s £5million Dorset mansion with sledgehammers and stole wife Sandra’s jewellery in a terrifying raid.

The ex-Premier League boss and wife Sandra, both 78, were away when the gang stormed their luxury home near Sandbanks, one of the priciest postcodes in the world per square foot. It is believed that the gang may have scoped out the property using online estate listings, with fears they noted layout details on a Rightmove ad, a tactic potentially used for other burglaries in the area.

A source told The Sun: “It was clearly organised. The raiders must have known the house was empty.”

The masked crooks allegedly helped themselves to Sandra’s jewellery and other luxury items.

The source added: “The criminals would only have to keep watch on the property and break in once the coast was clear, knowing the full layout of the house in advance.”

A source told The Sun that the mob used lump hammers and a sledgehammer to bash their way through the front door and into their home. They were caught on CCTV rifling through the property, believed to be listed for sale while the couple’s new villa is completed nearby.

The source said: “The raiders were all masked up. They were caught on CCTV cameras breaking in and trying to ransack the property looking for valuables. It was clearly organised and they must have known the house was empty at the time.”

One family friend said Harry had been attending a function that night, while Sandra was thankfully away in London.

A spokesman for Harry told The Sun: “Harry doesn’t want to make a fuss. There was no one in the house at the time and we don’t want to comment on what was taken. It’s a matter for the police.”

Dorset Police said: “We received a report of a burglary at an address in Poole. Officers attended and carried out enquiries at the property. An investigation is underway into the incident. No arrests have been made at this time.”

Harry, who won I’m A Celeb in 2018, is tipped to return to the jungle for the All Stars version this autumn.

Just over two weeks ago, Harry was shocked after a boat crashed into the garden of home. They paid £7million for a house in the Millionaire’s Row area where they have previously owned two houses, only to demolish it and build a grand villa, which experts estimate cost £12m.

A 50ft trimaran called Three Cheers was blown off-course and ended up getting stuck underneath the Redknapps’ jetty.
