Rocker Simon Neil has a surprising passion. The Biffy Clyro frontman is obsessed with 80s crime series Murder, She Wrote and even owns a figurine of main character Jessica Fletcher, played by Angela Lansbury.

Simon admitted: “Believe it or not I ordered a Jessica Fletcher action figure a few weeks ago, and so I am very excited. They are actually re-making Murder, She Wrote… It was the best £45 I ever spent! It’s the gift that keeps on giving.”

That’s not his only guilty pleasure either, he confessed: “Eurovision… Well, Frankie, my wife loves Eurovision and we both love Murder, She Wrote and so that’s our crack.

“What more do you need in a modern day love affair?”

The band will release their tenth album Futique this September and hit the road next year in support of it.

And they say they’ve learnt the hard way to take better care of themselves.

Speaking on Radio X, Simon said: “You fall in and out of love with it, it’s about getting the balance. It’s not very romantic to say it but if you spend eight months of the year on the road and in a bus you neglect yourself as a human being, you fall apart mentally and physically, we’ve learnt that the hard way.

“So now we just try and tour a bit more sensibly, so we got out four weeks a time as that’s kind of the limit of when we give the best of ourselves at the shows.

“It doesn’t become wrote and habitual, we do like the shows to matter, we are not a choreographed band so to keep that energy and passion, it’s four weeks and then we tap out.”

Plus you need time at home with Jessica Fletcher.

Oasis fever reached Y Not Festival as the tribute act was bumped up to the main stage.

Noasis were given the promotion from the 800-capacity Flamingo Jack’s due to the high demand and instead performed to around 20,000 people.

They were on great form too having just watched the real deal at Wembley on Saturday night, James ‘Noel’ Cropley said: “It still seems a bit weird that I was watching them do Champagne Supernova last night and here I am in front of 20,000 people playing the same songs.”
