Liam Gallagher shared a poignant tribute on stage after a fan plunged to their death at their Wembley gig.
A man in his forties died after falling from a height at one of the band’s Wembley concerts on Saturday (August 2), the Met Police said. Officers and medics responded to reports that a man had been injured around 10.20pm and that he was pronounced dead at the scene after being “found with injuries consistent with a fall”.
The fan reportedly fell from an upper tier and police have said they “believe it is likely a number of people witnessed the incident, or may knowingly or unknowingly have caught it on mobile phone video footage”. They’ve asked for anyone who may have information to get in touch via 101.
Oasis said they are “shocked and saddened” by the fan’s death. They added: “Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”

But Liam also dedicated the band’s hit song Live Forever to “all the people who can’t be here tonight” at their Wembley gig on Sunday evening. It was a touching tribute to absent fans in light of the fan’s death.
Addressing fans on stage at their gig on Sunday night after finishing Whatever, Liam said: “This one’s for all the people who can’t be here tonight, but who are here if you know what I mean, and aren’t they looking lovely. Live Forever.” The band then played Live Forever.

The concert on Sunday was the last of five nights at London’s Wembley Stadium. The band are currently on their Live ’25 reunion tour, which has seen the band reunite for the first time in 16 years.
Wembley said of the fan’s death: “Despite their efforts, the fan very sadly died. Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers.”
