Katy Perry is said to be feeling “let down and humiliated” after her ex Orlando Bloom appeared to poke fun at her rumoured new romance with former Canadian PM, Justin Trudeau
Orlando Bloom is said to have left his ex Katy Perry feeling “humiliated”.
A few days ago, the actor appeared to playfully address Katy’s apparent new romance with former Canadian PM, Justin Trudeau. Orlando, 48, and Katy, 40, reportedly split earlier this summer after nine years – they got engaged in 2019 and share four-year-old daughter Daisy.
Pop star Katy was first linked to Canadian politics titan Justin when they were spotted having dinner together at the Le Violon restaurant in Montreal. Two days later, he was seen dancing and singing in the crowd at her concert in the city.
And Orlando couldn’t help but see the funny side of a fake image suggestion that he, too, had found a spark with a famous politician. The post on satirical news site The Onion posted a fake photo of Orlando at dinner with the former Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel.
It showed the pair sat at a candle-lit dinner table, with a faux caption from an “insider” claiming: “Angela kept Orlando laughing all night – he couldn’t keep his eyes off her!” Orlando saw the funny side of it and posted a string of clapping emojis in the comments section.
However, this is said to have upset Katy, and a source told OK!: “Katy feels very let down and humiliated by Orlando, but she’s also realising that he wasn’t the right person for her. He’s showing his true colours and it’s really very hurtful and spiteful to her, especially as it probably means the end of any possible friendship with him in future.
They added: “She hoped they’d both be mature after the break-up so she’s feeling really disappointed.”
Orlando and Katy confirmed the end of their relationship in June with a joint statement. It read: “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry ‘s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
Katy has revealed how she and the Lord of the Rings star did couples therapy and that it helped their relationship. She told the Call Her Daddy podcast: “We do a lot of couples therapy and we want to evolve.
“That’s, I think, why we’re in our relationship – to become better humans so that we can raise this beautiful human being.” It has been reported that the couple were having issues around the time of her highly criticised Blue Origin space flight in April.
It’s not the first time Katy and Orlando have split – they broke up for almost a year in April 2017. At the time, Orlando said, “We’re friends, it’s good. We’re all grown up.” They got back together in early 2018, when they were seen holidaying in Prague.
