The voice behind Jet2’s iconic advert also uses a “sultry” voice for her other projects, she has confessed.

Soap star Zoe Lister, who has previously starred in Hollyoaks, is the face behind the viral “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday” advert and told us that she sometimes uses a “classic, sultry vibe” when working with some particular brands.

The voice actress told Daily Star: “Jet2 is really fun to voice. They also have sub-brands like Indulgent Escapes, Vibe and City Breaks which all require different voices. Indulgent escapes has that classic sultry vibe, which is really fun to do.

“For Vibe I pretend to be a 25-year-old with attitude and City Breaks, a busy modern professional with places to be. I love playing all those roles! Some voiceovers can be pages of incomprehensible corporate speak which are pretty dry.”

Zoe admitted that she find the roles with “a bit of character about them” the ones she enjoys the most: “I channel the holiday mood by literally imagining myself on an idyllic beach as I say the words. I even try to make the words sound warm!”

The former Hollyoaks star said that she “tends to record each voiceover several times” which can take a while: “Sometimes many, many times as people have different opinions on what’s needed from each read.

“The trend these days is for natural, conversational voiceovers which the Jet2 one definitely isn’t! I think that’s why it stands out, it’s a bit nostalgic sounding. I always read them with a massive smile and lots of shoulder moves and pointing which seems to help…”

When asked if she expected the voiceover to go as viral as it did, Zoe responded: “Not in a million years! I never thought this would be the thing that sent me viral but I’m so happy it is as it’s bringing a lot of joy and silliness to the world and we all need that!
