Tulisa Contostavlos has opened up about the “every woman’s worst nightmare” moment she was attacked by a stranger in a park after he lay in wait “hissing like a snake”
Tulisa Contostavlos has revealed the chilling moment she was confronted by a stranger “hissing like a snake” in a dimly lit park during the night, calling it “every woman’s worst nightmare”.
The former X Factor judge, 37, has disclosed details of the petrifying incident in her latest book, Judgement: Love, Trials, and Tribulations. She recounts how “pure fear surged” through her as the individual approached, making snake-like hissing sounds.
Prior to the frightening encounter, Tulisa had experienced a heated argument with her then-boyfriend Jacob, which led her to jump out of their taxi and make her way through a park on foot.
Whilst trying to find an exit route, the singer heard a twig crack – before spotting movement amongst the bushes. The shadowy figure shifted, revealing itself to be a man lurking between the trees.
“He was slightly crouched with his arms out and hands spread by his side, like an animal ready to pounce,” Tulisa remembered. “He looked middle-aged with tanned skin, dark eyes and a shaven head, but the thing that stood out the most was his smile. He was grinning at me evilly, showing his teeth. He stayed crouched and still, watching me with his evil eyes glistening through the shadows. I was frozen in shock and fear, when all of a sudden he made a loud sound. ‘Hssssssssssss,’ he hissed like a snake.”, reports the Mirror.
The star remembered how she began to tremble with terror – something that appeared to thrill the man, who started to edge closer towards her.
Her survival instincts kicked in, and Tulisa began to consider an escape route, gripping her keys between her fingers and readying herself to strike him in the groin when he drew near enough.
As Tulisa’s life flashed before her eyes, the man chuckled menacingly and kept moving forward, stretching his fingers out wide, wiggling them, and carrying on with his sinister hissing.
The singer was utterly terrified. Then everything shifted.
“All of a sudden, out of nowhere, I heard a deep booming voice in the distance behind me. ‘OOOOOIIIIIII! Don’t you fucking touch her!’ roared the male voice. The words echoed through the field… A feeling of pure euphoria and relief came over me as I recognised the voice. It was as if the clouds had opened up and God Himself had answered my prayers! It was Jacob!”.
The stranger began to panic, his gaze flicking frantically between Tulisa and the approaching Jacob. Grabbing her chance, she spun around and sprinted towards her boyfriend, who was also charging towards her at breakneck speed.
“He sprinted towards me until he caught me, as I fell into his arms, bursting into a fit of tears and wailing loudly,” she remembered. “‘The… there was a man,’ I gasped through my sobs, ‘a… a man in the bushes!’ He grabbed me and pulled my head into his chest with both hands, panting loudly, out of breath. ‘I know, I know, I saw him, shhhhhhh, he’s gone, he ran, it’s OK, I got you, you’re safe, sshhhhhh.'”.
