Netflix is spicing up Jane Austen, with the new Pride and Prejudice remake set to swap prim and proper manners for steamy scenes and full on risqué romance
Netflix is turning the world of Jane Austen on its head with a bold Pride and Prejudice remake that will leave fans blushing.
The streaming giant is shaking up the classic tale of manners, marriage, and mayhem, whilst adding a spicy twist that Austen herself might not have seen coming.
Gone are the prim and proper scenes of Regency England as viewers are being treated to extra-saucy moments that take the story to a whole never level with undeniably steamy encounters.
One of the most talked-about updates is the casting of Emma Corrin as the fiercely independent Elizabeth Bennet. Corrin’s portrayal is expected to inject a contemporary edge into the character, balancing wit and intelligence with an unexpected hint of heat. But she isn’t the only one turning up the temperature.
Rhea Norwood, playing the mischievous Lydia Bennet, is at the centre of one of the series’ most provocative sequences, alongside the Louis Partridge as the dashing George Wickham. Their scenes are reportedly far more daring than anything seen in previous adaptations, with Netflix making sure this reboot sizzles with spicy scenes.
Producers have confirmed that the show still honours Austen’s classic themes of love, societal expectation, and family rivalry.
Fans of the novel may be split on whether they approve of the sexed-up direction, but there’s no denying that Netflix is taking a bold gamble. With its mix of drama, wit, and now extra-racy romance, this Pride and Prejudice is certainly aiming to be a talking point amongst fans.
