Brooklyn Beckham is said to be “heartbroken” over the way his wife Nicola Peltz has been portrayed, as a source claimed the couple is still hopeful of a reconciliation
Brooklyn Beckham has firmly denied being controlled by Nicola Peltz – with pals revealing how his “heart breaks” seeing the way his spouse is being depicted.
The eldest child of David and Victoria is convinced his wife is being unjustly criticised following his parents and wider family being left off the guest list for his wedding vow renewal ceremony.
An insider revealed: “It’s so rooted in misogyny that all of the heat for his parents not being invited is on Nicola. Everyone seems to forget that Brooklyn is an adult man and fully capable of speaking out. Nicola would have respected all that he chose. It breaks Brooklyn’s heart to see his wife being painted as this vixen and viper.”
The Lola star has faced accusations of cutting her husband off from both his relatives and his mates.
Many have highlighted that none of his extended family attended the August 2 ceremony – which was conducted by her father Nelson – and apparently neither did his British friends, reports the Mirror.
Brooklyn has not yet officially commented on the controversy.
However, this week on social media, he provided his strongest indication of his feelings by giving a thumbs up to a comment from an Instagram user who had stood up for Nicola.
The supporter had posted: “Why is it assumed that she made the decision to exclude them? … If he really wanted his parents there, they would be.”
The Mirror revealed this week how the feud between David and Victoria Beckham and their daughter-in-law had become so severe that the couple only discovered the vow renewal through news reports and photographs circulating online.
Friends of Nicola and Brooklyn disclosed that his brothers Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, were also excluded following what they described as a string of social media jibes.
One source revealed: “Brooklyn’s brothers have been fanning the flames. They’ve openly made fun of and trolled Brooklyn in comments on social media.”
However, some have raised questions about why the entire family faced exclusion.
The complete Beckham dynasty – including daughter Harper, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins – were shut out of the August 2 ceremony in America. As one insider revealed to the Mirror: “Why punish the whole family for what is essentially a fallout with just the mum and dad?”.
Friends suggested it was particularly difficult to exclude Harper, 14, who shares a close bond with Brooklyn and his grandparents. One explained: “They are trying to make the best decisions for them in what are very unfortunate circumstances. Navigating family stuff is hard and it’s ugly.”
The pair still maintain hopes for healing the rift. The friend added: “The door is open. No one wants to see this kind of pain exist. There is always hope. At the end of the day, blood is thicker than water.”
